A Family Tradition
At La Calandria Breeder, we have over 35 years of experience dedicated to the responsible breeding of purebred dogs. Since our founding in 1980, we have been committed to preserving the finest qualities of each dog, always prioritizing their well-being, health, and temperament.
Located in the countryside of Eastern Antioquia—specifically in Rionegro, Antioquia (Colombia)—we offer a peaceful, ideal setting for our dogs’ development, allowing them to grow in a healthy, safe environment surrounded by constant care.
Throughout our history, we have specialized in Group III breeds (Terriers), breeding Smooth Fox Terriers, Wire Fox Terriers, Yorkshire Terriers, Jack Russell Terriers, and Boston Terriers for over two decades. Currently, our work focuses exclusively on breeding the Boston Terrier—a member of Group IX (Companion Dogs)—a breed we admire for its intelligence, balanced temperament, and excellent suitability as a companion.
Criadero La Calandria was founded by Miguel Barrientos Valencia, who dedicated his life to the care, selection, and improvement of purebred dogs. His love and respect for animals left a legacy that remains the foundation of our work.
Since 2013, the kennel has been managed by his son, Jerónimo Barrientos Saldarriaga, who upholds the founder’s philosophy by working with responsibility, ethics, and a deep commitment to animal welfare.
Today, every litter born at La Calandria represents over three decades of experience, responsible selection, and a passion for the Boston Terrier, resulting in healthy dogs raised to the highest quality standards.
