Airline Policies
Due to the brachycephalic characteristics of this breed, some airlines have travel restrictions for these dogs, including Avianca, LATAM, Copa Airlines, and American Airlines.
Brachycephalic refers to breeds with a shortened skull and muzzle (“brachy” means short and “cephalic” means head). These breeds may be more prone to respiratory issues because of their flat-faced anatomy.
If you plan to pick up your puppy and then travel by air to another city, please review the following airline information regarding in-cabin pet transportation before making your travel arrangements.
